Choosing a golf club is not as easy as looking at the price tag. I have to admit that the brand name clubs which usually cost more have a lot of technology in them and a lot of technology is used to produce them, and they usually look great, but that doesn’t mean they are the right choice for you.
The best golf irons now have a cavity back design, which means they have more metal around the edge of the head at the back, then a lump of metal right at the bottom with a cavity in between that and the face. That extra weight right at the bottom helps to lower the center of gravity so you can get some height on your shots, and the metal around the edge helps to stiffen the head and give it a bigger sweetspot. So in terms of irons then there are no massive differences to set them apart.
Yet if you look at the world of drivers then the companies have a lot more room to innovate with and there are all sorts of different things being tried out in this field. The square driver is an example of this innovation, by adding extra weight and support to the corners of the head, which gives it that square shape at address, then they have massively increased the MOI and therefore the size of the sweetspot. There are also adjustable drivers which help you to tweak your shot by moving little weights along tracks or taking them out to swap around, and one with an adjustable head so you can change the angle at impact etc to suit your style of play.
