We have all sorts of gadgets now to help us in pretty much every area of our lives, but one area that seems to have more gadgets than most is the kitchen. You can buy ice cream makers, spinning chip fryers, salad dryers, toastie makers, things which supposedly help you poach an egg without a mess (and have never worked for us), machines to cook your egg without water and so much more. The question is, will we use any of them more than once?
We all know that these gadgets are exciting for about a week, and then you realize they aren’t that good and are really hard to clean, then they get put away and never see the light of day again. When you are buying gadgets for the kitchen then you really need to think long and hard about what you choose and whether it is genuinely useful. Like a bread maker, it sounds like a great idea and the bread is delicious when you eat it straightaway, but you soon realize it is a lot of work for something you can buy from a supermarket. But if you like toast then a toaster which can cook your bread really quickly, and maybe fit different sized slices in, would get a lot of use. Something I think is really handy is an indoor electric turkey fryer (only if you cook a lot of turkeys though) because it stops you struggling to fit everything else in the oven around it like the sweet potatoes etc, which is a huge problem.
So I believe there are some gadgets out there which can be really handy and save you a lot of time and stress in the kitchen, but the problem is you have to wade through a lot of useless stuff to find them. The easiest way to cut down your search is to ask your friends which ones they use on a regular basis, then you can benefit from all the money they have already wasted trying gadgets out!
